#5 - "Yarbasan Evleri"
This charming three bedroom, two floor house decorated artfully with fine fabrics and artwork, is fitted into a nook of a cliff-side neighbourhood looking out at the wide-open sea and distant islands, as if it were built into the ramparts of a medieval castle. Despite its closeness to other habitations it affords absolute privacy. The first floor is an open design with a full kitchen and a living room adorned with a mini-cathedral ceiling of red beams against a cream-coloured background. The floor gives out into a balcony that comes into its own at sunset, designed for sitting with a cup of tea or a dry martini, daydreaming ancient folklore. From the balcony, can be entered a hidden bedroom with afull bathroom next to the rocks in the garden. The lower floor has a lovely bedroom and a full bathroom with mosaic shower. Another balcony with an equally comprehensive view extends from this floor, ideal for a morning coffee after a comfortable sleep. There is another bedroom and a full bathroom that can be entered from the lower flor balcony. It is such a cosy-delightful holiday-home, that its only drawback is that one would be loath to leave it and explore the vastly entertaining possibilities of the Bodrum Peninsula that surrounds Yarbasan.
